Blood into Ink

Blood into Ink is a solo piano piece that I wrote, primarily for the purpose of being performed at my senior recital.

The title comes from a quote as follows; “The purpose of literature is to turn blood into ink.” The whole piece is a deep dive into what I am doing by taking the time to “write a piece” anyways. It is a deeply personal explanation of why I write and why I think writing music is valuable to begin with.
